Luiz Felipe is an actor, director, and performer. His hybrid work moves fluidly within the realms of theatre and performance art, centring on the physicality of movement, new perspectives on current diasporic developments, migration, and a sense of belonging. Luiz creates simple, static actions that contrast with the overwhelming flow of daily information, inviting the audience to engage with their own subjectivity.

In his recent projects, he introduces a character that embodies Black identity in its many forms: cabezadenego is playful, transgressive, and challenges stereotypes by proposing a new narrative. Wearing a loincloth, with a painted face and a shirt tied around his head, this character was conceived to bring into focus the stereotypes surrounding his body—whether as the “black queen” or as a Black man linked to both fear and desire.

Luiz’s acting career spans performances in museums and cultural institutions in both Brazil and Europe, with roles in over 15 theatre productions across different companies and multiple projects in audiovisual media.

In late 2023, Luiz Felipe, along with producers Mbé and LeyBlack, released his debut work as a music director under the QTV label: the acclaimed album MIMOSA.
