El tiro

El Tiro» is a work completed at Konvent Residencia 2020, developed from a reflection on the stereotyped condition of the Black man and the Black queer man in constant diaspora. Understanding diaspora not only as a historical, ethnic, and geographical movement, but also as language—a continuous movement both internal and external in the lives of racialized individuals in Western society.

In the created piece, a single action unfolds with the intention of embodying this historical movement. The text is a language born from the connection of the character @cabezadenego with his ancestors, in a meditative state. A whispering sound from those who came before.

«El Tiro» is the journey of one man— a Black man, a suspect, a threat, a danger, the shot. The Black queer man, sexualization, morality, beauty, freedom, the shot.

@cabezaenego traverses time without crossing space. This man, trapped within himself, runs his freedom in search of the present, with no possibility of return.
